A quick note to let you know that the cptutils package

  http://sview01.wiredworkplace.net/pub/jjg/en/code/cptutils.html

can now convert GIMP gradients to the xmedcon LUT format,
so allowing any of the colour gradients in cpt-city

  http://sview01.wiredworkplace.net/pub/cpt-city/

to be used in xmedcon.
